Gillian Henson
Gillian Henson, DVM, is an emergency veterinarian at Memphis Veterinary Specialists & Emergency in Cordova.
Dr Gillian Henson-Van Wyk is a New England native who grew up in Connecticut. She received her undergraduate degree in animal science and microbiology from the University of Vermont in 2013. She graduated with her DVM from Ross University in 2017, after completing her clinical year studies at the University of Sydney's (Australia) veterinary school. She then completed an internship in equine medicine and surgery and has moved a few times across the country to end up in Memphis in 2024.
Previously she practiced in rural areas where she treated all different kinds of emergencies. This developed her passion in emergency medicine and led her to MVS. Her professional interests include toxin management and providing compassionate end of life care. Dr Henson lives in Northern Mississippi with her husband, baby girl and multiple pets. She loves to travel and spend time outside near any water she can find!
