Darryl King
Darryl King, DVM, is an emergency veterinarian at Memphis Veterinary Specialists & Emergency in Cordova.
Dr. King is a Mississippi native who earned his undergraduate degree in animal science and veterinary degree from Mississippi State University. Following graduation, Dr. King practiced equine medicine on the east coast of Florida, then moved to Georgia working in mixed animal medicine. In 2007, Dr. King moved to the Memphis area where he practiced small animal medicine in Collierville and worked emergency medicine shifts at MVSE.
Dr. King loves the fast pace and critical thinking required in emergency medicine. He was excited to join the MVSE full-time emergency staff in 2024.
When not working, he and his wife have a full life taking care of the animals on their small farm in north Mississippi. Dr. King has two daughters, Mary Chandler and Natalie, two dogs, Poppy and Greeley, three cats, horses, cows, chickens, and goats. He and his family love riding horses and rodeoing. Dr. King enjoys watching college football, hunting, and carpentry projects.
